Johannesburg, Mpumalanga, Kruger National Park, Swaziland, Zululand, Durban, Garden Route, Cape Town Tour overview This all-encompassing, 14-day itinerary includes all the special details that make South Africa one of our most popular destinations. Sophisticated urban living, vast forested mountains, fertile plains, fascinating wildlife and magical cultural traditions all come together in a world of African adventure.

1 Day 1:

Arrive Johannesburg Arrive in Johannesburg, where you are met and escorted to your hotel.

2 Day 2:

Johannesburg / Pretoria / Mpumalanga Visit Pretoria and continue to Mpumalanga via Witbank, Dullstroom and Lydenburg to our overnight stop situated on the famous Long Tom Pass. Afternoon at leisure with optional activities available. (BD)

3 Day 3:

Panorama Route This morning take in spectacular views of God’s Window and explore Bourke’s Luck Potholes. In the afternoon enjoy an interpretive boat cruise along the lush subtropical banks of the Blyde River Canyon, one of the natural wonders of Africa. View Africa’s largest active Tufa Falls as well as the famous Tree Rondavels before we reach Hazyview. (B)

4 Day 4:

Kruger National Park –Optional Elephant Interaction Savor the magic of this enormous wildlife sanctuary on your morning game drive in open safari vehicle in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard, and all manner of wildlife, birds and plant species. The afternoon is free for optional game drive or the Elephant interaction experience, with an opportunity to touch, feed and brush down these magnificent animals. (additional cost). (B)

5 Day 5:

The Kingdom of Swaziland Travel to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland, ruled by King MsWati III. Enjoy a Swazi cultural experience to introduce us to the charming people of Swaziland and their traditions. Continue through the capital city, Mbabane, with its vibrant markets packed handicrafts to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley. (BLD)

6 Day 6:

The Kingdom of the Zulu’s – Optional Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park We start with a true African shopping experience at the vibrant Ezulwini Craft Market. We then travel into Zululand. The afternoon is free for optional exciting open safari vehicle game drive into the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park (additional cost). Hluhluwe is home to Africa’s Big Five, including the white rhino. (B)

7 Day 7:

Lake St Lucia / Durban Following a cruise on Lake St Lucia, travel to Durban. The afternoon is at leisure. Optional Durban City Tour (additional cost). (B)

8 Day 8:

Durban / Port Elizabeth / Garden Route - Knysna Fly to Port Elizabeth and continue on through the glorious, indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest to Knysna, in the heart of the famous Garden Route. (BD)

9 Day 9:

Garden Route – Knysna Cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. The afternoon is at leisure. (BL)

10 Day 10:

Garden Route - Oudtshoorn Enjoy the wonderful views of the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en route to Oudtshoorn. After lunch, tour an ostrich farm and then head underground for a fascinating tour of the Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most incredible natural wonders. (BL)

11 Day 11:

Garden Route / Cape Town Enjoy the ever-changing vistas, traveling to Cape Town. Depending on the season we will travel via the seaside village of Hermanus (July to ovember only) or via ‘Route 62’, South Africa’s version of America’s ‘Route 66’. (B)

12 Day 12:

Cape Town - Cape Peninsula Enjoy a full day touring the Cape Peninsula. Stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, with a cruise option to Seal Island (weather permitting, additional cost). Continue to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, before stopping to see the penguins at Boulders Beach. Return to Cape Town via Simon’s Town. (B)

13 Day 13:

Cape Town - Cape Winelands Tour the Cape Winelands, visiting both Paarl and Stellenbosch before stopping for wine tasting at two well known estates. A stop at the Huguenot Memorial Museum and the Afrikaans Language Monument provides a historical perspective. (B)

14 Day 14:

Depart Cape Town Day at leisure. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B) –
