20 Days

1 Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh

Arrive in the vibrant and dynamic city of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia and transfer to your desired hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

2 Day 2: Phnom Penh

Set out on a city tour to visit the National Museum, which houses Khmer art and sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history, visit the Royal Palace which contains the Silver Pagoda. In the afternoon learn more about Cambodia’s past tragedy with a visit Tuol Sleng Museum. Return to the hotel for a rest or enjoy the sunset at one of the riverside cafes.

3 Day 3: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Fly to the city of Siem Reap, the gateway to the Temples of Angkor. On arrival, enjoy lunch in town and get ready to explore the legendary temples. Start with Angkor Wat, one of the modern wonders of the world and be amazed by the sheer size of the temple. Continue your visit with other amazing temples in the area and get back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

4 Day 4: Siem Reap

Start the day with a transfer to the impressive Preah Kahn Temple located on the Grand Circuit. Make your way to Neak Pean, an artificial island which contains a Buddhist temple. Enjoy lunch in Siem Reap and visit the beautiful Ta Prohm, one of Angkor’s jewels overgrown with fig trees. You will end the day with a visit to Sras Srang, the former Royal bathing pool of the Khmer Kings. Enjoy the sunset from the west terrace and return to Siem Reap for a free evening.

5 Day 5: Siem Reap 

Leave Siem Reap for Chhong Kneas on Trails of Indochina’s boat, the boat to learn about Tonle Sap Lake, its biodiversity and the Khmer rural culture. Enjoy a rare opportunity to meet with a local family at their private home followed by a visit around the village and a meeting with local monks who have prepared a blessing for you. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to explore the surrounding town of Siem Reap.

6 Day 6: Siem Reap - Saigon  

Fly onward to Saigon, Vietnam’s largest and dynamic city. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city.

7 Day 7: Saigon City Tour  

Admire Saigon’s historic landmarks including the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office both designed by French architect Gustav Eiffel, then onto the former Presidential Palace, headquarters of the former Saigon Government during the war. Finally, end your day with a drive to visit the War Remnants Museum for a vivid insight of the American war through the local’s eyes.

8 Day 8: Mekong Delta        

Drive from Saigon to Ben Tre, one of the country's southern provinces, located in the Delta of the Mekong River. Arrive at the waterfront pier and embark on an enjoyable motor boat excursion. At Turtle Island, visit a local house and be introduced to the owner, chat with your host and stroll through the garden to get an insight into daily farming life. Continue your journey by sampan, taste some local delicacies during lunch at My Tho, before returning to the city by mid afternoon.

9 Day 9: Saigon – Hoi An

The ancient town of Hoi An awaits you after short flight from Saigon and transfer from Danang airport. From here, be introduced to the charming town on a walking tour to see some of the historic buildings and homes dating back to the 16th century.

10 Day 10: Hoi An  

Enjoy the day at leisure to discover everything that Hoi An has to offer.

11 Day 11: Hue  

Drive about 3 hours north to the ancient capital Hue a city that served as an imperial capital to the Nguyen Lords, a feudal dynasty which reigned from the 17th to the 19th century. Along the way, drive over the Hai Van Mountain and enjoy the spectacular views it offers.

12 Day 12: Hue  

This morning complete your visit to Hue by the UNESCO Heritage Listed Imperial Palace, then visit the tombs of the former kings, the Thien Mu pagoda and transfer back to your hotel stopping en route at an incense stick making house so see how these colourful sticks are crafted.

13 Day 13: Hue - Hanoi  

Fly to the charming city of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital characterized by its ochre-coloured colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and scenic lakes. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

14 Day 14: Hanoi  

Today, visit the must ‘see’ sites including the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” resides; the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the first University for the sons of mandarins, the serene Museum of Ethnology that offers a fascinating insight into Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour through the Old Quarter; followed by a show at the water puppet theatre.

15 Day 15: Halong Bay Overnight  

On arrival in Halong Bay, board your desired junk boat and settle into your cabin. After lunch, enjoy visits to a cave and also a fishing village before returning for a cooking class with the chef or enjoy sunset on the top deck before dinner.

16 Day 16: Hanoi  

Rise early and greet the day with a refreshing Tai Chi class on the upper deck then spend the morning cruising around the bay stopping off at opportunities to enjoy the water and islands (weather permitting). Cruise back to Halong for your return transfer to Hanoi arriving back by the evening.

17 Day 17: Hanoi - Luang Prabang  

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang in Laos, once referred to as the jewel of Indochina. Start your day with a visit to the Royal Palace, which is now a National Museum. Continue with the exploration of the main Buddhist temples of Luang Prabang and a rare opportunity to interact with the monks before ending the day with a climb to the top of Phousi Hill for a sunset watch over Luang Prabang town.

18 Day 18: Kuang si waterfall  

Drive south to Kuang Si waterfall, one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque sights. On arrival, take a hike through the national park towards the Kuang Si waterfall. Continue to the top of the main waterfall and enjoy a swim in a large pool. Have lunch in the tranquil surroundings of the park and transfer back to your hotel by private vehicle to enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

19 Day 19: Pak Ou Caves  

After breakfast, embark on a short cruise on the Mekong River and visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, continue to Ban Muang Keo village and observe local weavers and whisky distillers honouring their timeworn traditional crafts before returning to Luang Prabang by car. The rest of the evening is yours at leisure to enjoy the town of Luang Prabang.

20 Day 20: Departure  

Enjoy the day at leisure until your transfer to the airport.
