8 Days

1 Day 1: (Monday - Arrival Transfer Athens)

You arrive in Athens for an overnight stay at your chosen accommodation. Take the opportunity to have some sightseeing time in this marvellous city where you can see the sights such as the Parthenon perched on top of the Acropolis, which looks stunning in the evening when all lit up.

2 Day 2: (Tuesday - Olympia)

This is the first day of the classical tour. You will be picked up from your hotel and be driven to the Corinth Canal where you are able to have a short stop to stretch your legs and take some photographs. From there we head on over to Epidaurus and spend some time at the ancient theatre that is world famous for its remarkable acoustics. Another short stop, this time in Nauplia will again give time to take photos of the amazing city and surroundings before moving on to Mycenae and a visit to the archaeological site. The final leg of the first day's journey will take you through both Megalopolis and Tripolis before arriving in Olympia for an overnight stay.

3 Day 3: (Wednesday - Delphi)

The second day of the tour starts in Olympia with a visit to the museum and the local archaeological site. Following this you are driven through Patras to Rion where you will cross over to Antirion on the fabulous new, and thought to be longest suspension bridge in Europe. After a brief stop in Nafpaktos you will be taken to Delphi for your evening meal and overnight stay.

4 Day 4: (Thursday - Athens)

The last day of the classical tour is spent in and around Delphi, which is an exciting city with an interesting history. There are several archaeological sites in Delphi to explore and well preserved ancient ruins including the theatre of Delphi which is nestled into the mountainside and gives excellent acoustics. It is a proud example of fabulous Ancient Greek engineering. Other must see sights include the Temple of Apollo, the Tholos and the athletic statues. After spending the day in Delphi you will be taken to Athens for an overnight stay.

5 Day 5: (Friday - Cruise Embarkation & Mykonos)

You will be collected by a driver after breakfast and transferred to the port where you will embark on your three day cruise. Your first stop this same day will be at Mykonos. Arrival is expected to be around 6pm with departure at 10pm. Mykonos is a lively island in the summer with plenty of sights and attractions to ensure your free time there can be easily filled.

6 Day 6: (Saturday - Rhodes)

After an overnight journey you will be arriving in Rhodes at around 9.30am. You get to spend the whole day on the island and will depart at 7.30pm. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful attractions of this beautiful destination. The Colossus of Rhodes is classed as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and although no evidence exists today or the structure, it is believed to have straddled the Mandraki harbour mouth. Currently there are two small deer statues standing on the spot thought to mark the feet of the Colossus. Rhodes old town is a beautiful place for shopping for traditional souvenirs, or for sitting in a caf? watching the world go by. A trip up the acropolis at Lindos on the southern part of the island gives amazing views across the island and the bay below.

7 Day 7: (Sunday - Patmos & Kusadasi)

Today allows you to take in two different destinations, Patmos and Kusadasi. You will arrive in Patmos at 6.30am and depart at 10am which gives just enough time to explore the town, soak up the atmosphere and pick up a few souvenirs. With Turkey being so close to Greece, cruises often take in at least one stop in the country and this cruise is no different. Arrival in Kusadasi is expected at 2pm with a departure time of 6.30pm. You are able to take some time and barter in a bazaar, buy traditional Turkish delight and perhaps even pick up a bargain rug or two from the many sellers you will find all vying for your business.

8 Day 8: (Monday- Piraeus & Disembark)

Arrival back in the port of Piraeus for your transfer to Athens airport for your onward journey home, taking with you many memories of a fabulous holiday. It should also be noted that to make our Greece cruise package more cost effective there are several items included in the price for your convenience. This includes breakfast each day, entrance fees to all archaeological sites and museums visited while on the tour, half board basis on the tour and all inclusive basis during the cruise.
