1-3 Day 1-3: Melbourne

Arrive in the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne for a three night stay. Attend a welcome drink with your tour guide and fellow travellers followed by dinner on board the Colonial Tramcar restaurant. The following morning, take a tour of the city. This afternoon is at leisure - perhaps join an optional tour to Phillip Island (extra cost). On your final day enjoy a full day at leisure to explore the city and the local region. D; B; B.

4 Day 4: Alice Springs

Fly to Alice Springs for one night. On arrival, visit the School of Air, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Telegraph Station and Anzac Hill. Tonight enjoy an Outback dinner at the Earth Sanctuary Nature Centre. B, D.

5-6 Day 5-6: Uluru

Travel to Uluru for a two night stay. Watch a magical sunset over Uluru from the viewing area. The next day, rise early to view Uluru at sunrise. Tour the caves at the base of the rock and visit the Cultural Centre before heading to Kata Tjuta. Walk through Walpa Gorge and enjoy sunset. B.

7-8 Day 7-8: Cairns / Great Barrier Reef

Meet Aboriginal artists this morning before flying to Cairns for a three night stay. The following day, cruise by high-speed catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef, with time for scuba diving (extra cost), snorkelling and swimming. B; B, L.

9 Day 9: Cairns

Spend today at leisure or perhaps join an optional tour to Kuranda (extra cost). B.

10 Day 10: Cairns / Sydney

Encounter native animals at the Cairns Wildlife Dome before flying to Sydney for three nights. B.

11-13 Day 11-13: Sydney

Visit the Opera House on a guided tour and see the Royal Botanic Gardens and Bondi Beach before a Sydney Harbour Cruise. Afternoon at leisure. The next day is at leisure or perhaps join an optional tour to the Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley (extra cost), then in the evening join your group and tour director for a farewell dinner. On the final day, transfer to Sydney airport where this itinerary ends
